TRADITIONAL SETTLEMENTS

Traditional alpine settlements are unique in their ability to adapt to farming and raising livestock, given the climate and the sloped terrain. Built with locally found material, homes were shared by human beings and animals. There are two types of habitats: permanent ones in the lower valleys and temporary ones at one or two different altitudes for grazing.
