CLIMBING FOR SCIENCE
One of the primary motivations for climbing mountains has been science: discovering the mysteries of high altitudes has fascinated scientists since the eighteenth century. Horace-Bénédicte de Saussure was one of the pioneers of alpine science with his work “Voyages dans les Alpes”, published between 1779 and 1796.
